Zino Davidoff was born on March 11, 1906 in Kiev, which is today part of Ukraine but in his time it was a part of the Russia. His parents were traders and manufacturers of snuff cigarettes in Kiev. He emigrated to Geneva, Switzerland in 1911, where he opened his own shop snuff a year later. Zino, after finishing school in 1924, he went to America to learn more about the trade of snuff. He was in Argentina, Brazil and after 2 years in Cuba where he spent two years working on a plantation and where it has found for the first time the cigarettes.
